PC & Mobile Mail Setup

Use your DiwanMail mailbox in Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, the Gmail app or any other mail app on your computer or phone.

iPhone, iPad or Mac? Sign in to webmail and open PC & Mobile Mail Setup to download a profile that sets everything up for you. If your organization uses its own server name (like mail.yourcompany.com), webmail shows it there too.

Step by step

Outlook (Windows, new Outlook and Microsoft 365)
  1. Open Outlook and choose File → Add account (new Outlook: Settings → Accounts → Add account).
  2. Enter your email address, open Advanced options and tick Let me set up my account manually.
  3. Choose IMAP (not Exchange, not POP).
  4. Incoming: server smtp.diwanmail.com, port 993, encryption SSL/TLS.
  5. Outgoing: server smtp.diwanmail.com, port 587, encryption STARTTLS.
  6. Enter your password and click Connect.
Apple Mail (iPhone / iPad)
  1. Open Settings → Apps → Mail → Mail Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add Mail Account.
  2. Enter your name, email address and password, then tap Next.
  3. Choose IMAP. For both Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server enter host name smtp.diwanmail.com, your full email address as user name, and your password.
  4. Tap Next, then Save.
Apple Mail (Mac)
  1. Open Mail → Add Account… → Other Mail Account.
  2. Enter your name, email address and password, then click Sign In.
  3. When asked, choose IMAP and enter smtp.diwanmail.com for both the incoming and outgoing server.
  4. Click Sign In.
Thunderbird
  1. Open ☰ → Account Settings → Account Actions → Add Mail Account.
  2. Enter your name, email address and password, then click Configure manually.
  3. Incoming: IMAP, smtp.diwanmail.com, port 993, SSL/TLS, Normal password.
  4. Outgoing: SMTP, smtp.diwanmail.com, port 587, STARTTLS, Normal password.
  5. Use your full email address as the username, then click Done.
Android (Gmail app)
  1. Open Gmail, tap your profile picture → Add another account → Other.
  2. Enter your email address, tap Manual setup and choose Personal (IMAP).
  3. Incoming server: smtp.diwanmail.com, port 993, security SSL/TLS.
  4. Outgoing server: smtp.diwanmail.com, port 587, security STARTTLS, Require sign-in on.
Outlook app (iPhone / Android)
  1. Open Outlook → Settings → Add mail account → Add email account.
  2. Enter your email address, choose IMAP and turn on Advanced settings.
  3. IMAP: smtp.diwanmail.com, port 993, SSL. SMTP: smtp.diwanmail.com, port 587, STARTTLS.
  4. Use your full email address and password for both, then tap Sign in.

Good to know

  • Folders (Sent, Drafts, Junk, Trash) are found automatically.
  • Spam is filtered on the server into Junk, in every app.
  • Filters and vacation replies run on the server, even when your apps are closed.
  • Only ports 993 and 587 work. POP3 and ports 143, 465 and 25 aren't available for mail apps.
  • Wrong password several times? You're blocked for a while to stop password guessing. Wait 15–30 minutes and try again.
